UEFA QUALIFIERS
The European qualifiers are based on the European U-21 Championship in 2000. There are nine qualifying groups for this tournament with the nine group winners and seven-best runner-ups reaching the play-offs. The play-offs are over two legs and the eight winners go through to the European U-21 Championship. The top four teams then qualify for the Olympics.
