Notes              : Left defender who started in the Bayern Munich youth sides. He made his debut in 2002/03 but was loaned out for two years to Stuttgart, starting in the middle of 2003. This was because he was behind the experienced Bixente Lizarazu and Tobias Rau in the first team. Lahm played in 31 games in the German league with Stuttgart showing his great talent. He made his full international debut in February 2004 against Croatia and his good performance soon led him to become a regular in the national side. He was a member of the German squad for Euro 2004.
