Notes              : Podolski was Polish born and had a very rapid rise to fame in Germany. In November 2003 he was promoted from the Koln youth side and in the remainder of the 2003/04 season he scored ten goals in sixteen games. This performance earned him a long contract with the club but unfortunately did not prevent Koln from being relegated. His great season earned him a call-up to the full German international side and he was named to their squad for Euro 2004.
