Notes              : Scored five goals at the 2001 European U/16 Championships but this was not enough for France to win the tournament, losing 1-0 to Spain in the final. Teamed well up front with club teammate Sinama-Pongolle. Spent a period on trial at Arsenal. After an alliance between Le Havre and Liverpool, Sinama-Pongolle and Le Tallec agreed to join Liverpool in 2003. Scored 3 goals and won the Silver Ball as second best player behind Sinama-Pongolle as he helped France win the 2001 World U/17 Championships. Le Tallec was loaned back to Le Havre where he helped them get promoted in 2002 but could not stop them from being relegated in 2003, although he did score two goals. In the middle of 2003 Le Tallec returned to Liverpool.
