Notes              : Played well for Belgium at the European U/16 Championships 2001 but was unable to help them past the group stage. Right sided midfielder who rejected trials at both Manchester United and Schalke 04. He was also the subject of an offer by Ipswich. Blondel was involved in the first team of Excelsior Mouscron before eventually deciding to move overseas and join Tottenham Hotspur in the middle of 2002.
