Players used to play for only one club in their careers. Now players are moving regularly from club to club, especially in Italy. Italian international forward Christian Vieri played for 8 teams in 8 years moving from smaller clubs to larger, including Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Lazio and currently Internazionale. The money exchanged in transfers is also increasing with the importance of having good squads to challenge in the European Champion's League and get more more money becoming increasingly important.
The transfer system is will change soon but players will always be moving from club to club in the search for trophies.
