CONCACAF QUALIFIERS
The CONCACAF region was split into three areas: North, Caribbean, Central. Each had four qualifiers for the qualifying round. In the North all four teams (Bermuda, Canada, USA, Mexico) automatically qualified. In the Caribbean there were two preliminary rounds to determine their qualifiers. In the Central Costa Rica automatically qualified but the remaining six teams played off for the other three places. These teams were split into three groups for the qualifying round with the top two progressing to the final round. USA progress automatically to the final round as they are hosting the tournament so there were only three teams and one qualifying spot in Group C. In the final round there are two groups of three. The top two in each group progress to the semi-finals. The two winners of the semi-final are the two CONCACAF qualifiers and play-off in the final for the title.
