Notes              : Helped Spain to the European U/16 Championships in 2001 with strong defensive play at the back. Spain only conceded three goals in six games and Garcia was an important contributor to this record. There where rumours that Manchester United were interested in Garcia. He was also captain of the Spanish side which competed at the World U/17 Championships in 2001. Similar to successful Spanish defender Fernando Hierro.
