Notes              : Came on as a substitute for Notts County against Sheffield United at the age of fifteen. Moved from Notts County to Arsenal on 8 January 1999 for a tribunal decided £2m. Made his Arsenal debut against Middlesbrough in Worthington Cup on November 1999 making him Arsenal's youngest ever player at 16 years and 319 days. Represented England at U/16, U/18 and U/21 levels. Continued to appear in the Worthington Cup over the next few seasons and in January 2002 scored two goals in nine games whilst on loan to Watford. He went back on loan to Watford in November 2002. On his return for Arsenal he scored a hat-trick against Southampton in the Premier League in May 2003.
