Notes              : Has represented Czech Republic in most youth levels including at the European U/21 Championship, where he scored one goal and they finished runner-up to Italy, and the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Also scored two goals in 2000 European U/18 Championship where they finished fourth. Scored four goals for Banik Ostrava in 2000/01 as they narrowly avoided relegation. After nine goals in fourteen games he made his full international debut against Belgium in April 2001. He scored in this game and also in his second international match which was a World Cup qualifier against Northern Ireland. Made a 3.2m move to Liverpool from Banik Ostrava but continued to play in the Czech Republic until he gained a work permit. Joins international teammates Patrick Berger and Vladimir Smicer at Liverpool.
