Vincent Kompany

Position         : Defender

Date of birth : 10 April, 1986

Team              : Anderlecht (Belgium)

Nationality     : Belgium

Notes              : Kompany made his first team debut for Anderlecht in July 2003 in the UEFA Champion's League second qualifying round after an injury to Glen De Boeck. His impressive performance led to him retaining his place and becoming a regular in the Anderlecht side even after De Boeck's return. Kompany's form in the Champion's League led to interest from all of the large European sides and also to a call-up to the full Belgian national team squad. He did not play against Estonia but if he had he would have become Belgium's second youngest ever international, after Paul Van Himst, at the age of seventeen and six months.
