Notes              : Played in the 2001 African U/20 Championship at the age of sixteen and scored two goals in the victory over Nigeria. He then helped them to the final of the tournament and repeated this effort at the World Youth Cup ,where Ghana again made the final only this time to lose to the hosts Argentina. Spent a period on trial with Manchester United in which he impressed. Was also involved in the Meridian Cup in 2001. Muntari eventually moved to Europe from the Ghanaian side Liberty Professionals. He joined Italian side Udinese where he made his first team debut in 2002/03.
